This organization in Connecticut utilizes state-of-the-art computer and video technology to produce training and educational programs for the health care industry, specifically for health care professionals. Through rapid growth and success, the company’s IT infrastructure was stressed under the load of their growing business. During a particularly busy work week their systems failed, the internal support staff experienced difficulties bringing the network back online, and employees were sent home. As office productivity was being affected, managers became seriously concerned about the operation of their business.

Salvaging the data involved working with a combination of backups and manually recovering data from the backup disks. It also involved working with Microsoft to retrieve lost email. (The work with Microsoft led to the eventual creation of a Microsoft support white paper available to all Microsoft support engineers.)
